In Luke 10:19 Jesus said, “Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Also in Luke 9:1, “Then he called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases.” There has been delegated authority given to the body of Christ as well as the power of the Holy Spirit to back up that authority. There are many Christians who have received the power of the Holy Spirit in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit but never operate in their authority in Christ. They have power but it just remains dormant and does not benefit them or others. Understanding how to operate in our authority in Christ is essential for the benefit of our heart. If our heart lacks understanding then there will be areas where we limit Jesus and his ability to operate through us.
